What is PPA-Spy?

PPA-Spy provides simple GUI that shows you some information about a PPA (Personal Package Archive) that is hosted on launchpad.net

PPA-Spy uses the official launchpad.net API

PPA-Spy is alpha software. So far it seems to work for me but it may have severe bugs I didn’t noticed yet. Use it at your own risk.

If you find a bug in PPA-Spy please report it at the bugtracker at Launchpad so that I can fix it. Thank you.

PPA-Spy needs:

  • Python3 (Ubuntu: package python3-minimal)
  • Python3 support for GObject Introspection (Ubuntu: package python3-gi
  • Python3 support for Launchpad clients (Ubuntu: package python3-launchpadlib)
  • setup-tools for Python3 (Ubuntu: package python3-setuptools)

When you install the .deb package file all necessary packages will automatically installed.

Because of python3-launchpadlib PPY-Spy needs at least Ubuntu 15.04 “Vivid Vervet”

PPA-Spy is available from the PPA (“Personal Package Archive”) ppa:diesch/testing for all current versions of Ubuntu. If you add this PPA to your software sources Ubuntu’s Update manager will automatically install newer versions of PPA-Spy when they are available.

If you don’t know how to do this see this explanation.

Depending on how busy the Launchpad build servers are it may take a few hours for the PPA to get new packages after a release.

If you rather want to download the files manually here there are:
